en route

i did it. i went against everything i hold true, and bought a kindle. a kindle, for goodness' sakes! to all the e-readers out there, i send you sincerest apologies for my hushed judgments. yes, i first believed it was just a trend - ooh, check out my uber-modest bite into reality - but somehow it stayed. and now i'm an owner.

the morning i made the kindle-commitment was not short of heartfelt qualms. if you do this, you're going to be one of them. what about the covers, the satisfying scents, the physical pages, the room to jot notes? and don't forget the comfort of libraries, the wonders of a bookstore. does it all end with the click of a button? after rationally negotiating with myself, the kindle seemed most compatible with this current lifestyle...

--environmentally friendly
--energy sparing
--instant
--portable
--no fuss, no apps, just books
--cost-effective

this transition into the e-world does, by no means, change my love for the good ol' paperback. nor will it keep me from meandering through the aisles of libraries/bookstores. and don't doubt i will continue to open a book - old, new - to take a good whiff. this kindle is primarily about globally safe convenience.

so judge me all you want. my kindle is en route, and there's no stopping it.
