my heart melted. standing in line at the market, all i could think about was how much effort, time, and love went into writing and sending that message. completely spontaneous. absolutely tender. if anyone knows my mom and text messaging, it's this: she types one letter at a time. she doesn't know how to change the settings. and she doesn't care to. as a result, it takes eons for her to send a text. so when i received this message, i knew my mama was thinking about me. that she was determined. and that she just couldn't wait to say i love you.
